Stainless Steel NEMA 3R Floor Mount Enclosure

Nemaco offers NEMA 3R electrical enclosures with a full range of cabinet configurations including wall mount, floor mount, free standing, pole mount and custom configurations. Our NEMA 3R rated enclosure series can be used for both indoor and outdoor environments. The enclosures are designed to provide protection against rain, snow, ice, falling dirt, windblown dust/dirt. Nemaco offers NEMA 3R cabinets in the following materials:

Nemaco offers NEMA 3R Enclosures made from premium grades of carbon steel with oven baked & durable powder coated finishes. In order to better serve customers, Nemaco offers material upgrades to include mill (non-coated) aluminum, powder coated aluminum and to (304 / 316L) stainless steel that provides durability and more corrosion resistance.

DUST & RAIN RESISTANCE

According the standard NEMA rating system, the NEMA 3R enclosures do not need to be dust resistant. And therefore some manufacturers don’t include gaskets in the enclosures. But of course, gaskets would provide better water seal resistance from downward and dripping water from side winds in a heavy storm. In order to better serve customers, Nemaco often puts gaskets in many NEMA 3R enclosures design for better water seal resistance. Note that NEMA 3 rating does require dust resistance and by default the enclosures should have better water resistance. Call Nemaco for your NEMA 3 and 3R enclosures applications

STANDARD NEMA 3R TESTING

Here are the typical testing standards for Type 3R enclosures, For general reference, let’s discuss the most common downward rain test procedure that is used for industrial standards.

NEMA 3R enclosures need to be tested to provide protection from a downward water spray from nozzles with 5 psi for 1hr. After one hour rain test, the enclosures must have limited water inside and any excess water must drain from the enclosure.

We offer NEMA 3R Enclosures made from premium grades of carbon steel with oven baked & durable powder coated finishes. Powder coated handle and quarter turn knobs are available many cabinets. But customers can request upgraded hardware packages to chrome or stainless hardware (including JIC latches, hasps, and hinges).

In order to better serve customers, Nemaco offers material upgrades to include mill (non-coated) aluminum, powder coated aluminum and to (304 / 316L) stainless steel that provides durability and more corrosion resistance.

We offer NEMA 3R electrical enclosures with a full range of cabinet configurations including wall mount, floor mount, free standing, mobile wheels and custom configurations. The NEMA 3r cabinets can be used for both indoor or outdoor environments. The boxes are designed to provide protection against rain, snow, ice, falling dirt, windblown dust/dirt and dripping from leaking pipes for indoor or outdoor locations. These enclosures are typically powder coated steel and therefore provide limited corrosion resistance. For customers needing more corrosion resistant then they should consider requesting aluminum or (304/316L) stainless steel instead.
