Stainless Steel NEMA 3R Floor Mount Enclosure

Nemaco offers NEMA 3R electrical enclosures with a full range of cabinet configurations including wall mount, floor mount, free standing, pole mount and custom configurations. Our NEMA 3R rated enclosure series can be used for both indoor and outdoor environments. The enclosures are designed to provide protection against rain, snow, ice, falling dirt, windblown dust/dirt.

Nemaco offers NEMA 3R Enclosures made from premium grades of carbon steel with oven‐baked & durable powder coated finishes. To better serve customers, we also offer upgrades to mill (non-coated) aluminum, powder-coated aluminum and to 304 / 316L stainless steel for increased corrosion resistance.

DUST & RAIN RESISTANCE

According to the NEMA rating system, 3R enclosures do not require full dust resistance, so some manufacturers omit gaskets. We include gaskets to improve drip resistance in heavy storms. NEMA 3 does require dust resistance, and 3R requires limited water ingress—our gaskets help meet both.

STANDARD NEMA 3R TESTING

Typical testing calls for a downward water spray at 5 psi for one hour. After the test, only limited water may enter and any excess must drain.

COMMON MATERIALS & COATINGS

We offer NEMA 3R enclosures in premium carbon steel with oven-baked powder coat. Powder-coated handles and quarter-turn knobs are standard; upgrades to chrome or stainless hardware (JIC latches, hasps, hinges) are available.

Material upgrades include mill aluminum, powder-coated aluminum and 304 / 316L stainless for higher corrosion resistance.

TYPE 3R ENCLOSURES – SUMMARY

We offer NEMA 3R electrical enclosures in wall-mount, floor-mount, freestanding, mobile, and custom styles for indoor and outdoor use. They protect against rain, snow, ice, falling dirt, wind-blown dust/dirt, and dripping from pipes. Standard powder-coated steel gives basic corrosion resistance; aluminum or 304/316L stainless upgrades are available for harsher environments.
