NEMA 4 rating series are intended to use mainly in an outdoor environment, where the protection from the heavy rain is required. Nemaco’s product line includes a series of NEMA 4 electrical enclosures have been PERFORMANCE TESTED and APPROVED by Underwriters Laboratories (UL). Call Nemaco to learn more about both factory performance-class non-UL and UL Listed enclosures.

Nemaco has done performance rigorous testing to be approved for the Type 4 enclosure rating. Performance testing has included using heavy hose directed water spray down on enclosures surfaces, doors, door gaskets, turn latches, turn handles and cover plates.

NEMA 4 DEFINITION

Definition: NEMA 4 enclosures provide protection against solid objects such as falling dirt, circulating dust, airborne dust, and windblown dust. Similarly, they give the same level of protection against ingress of water, dripping, light splashing, splashing and hose down (directed) water.

NEMA TYPE 4 ENCLOSURES – SUMMARY

Nemaco offers NEMA 4 electrical cabinet and enclosure products with a full range of wall mount, floor mount, free standing cabinet, junction box, pull box and custom configurations. The enclosures can be used for indoor or outdoor environments. Our products are designed to provide protection against heavy hose directed spray wash-down, rain, snow, ice, falling dirt, windblown dust/dirt and dripping from leaking pipes for indoor or outdoor locations. These type 4 rating enclosures are typically powder coated steel and therefore provide fair corrosion resistance. For customers needing more corrosion resistance, consider using 304 / 316L stainless steel or upgrade for NEMA 4X.
