Nemaco offers a full product series of small submersible junction boxes (4″ H x 4″ W x 3” D), enclosures, wireway and large submersible cabinets (96″ H x 42″ W x 36” D)for networks and electrical power controls.
Definition: Type 6P enclosures constructed for either indoor or outdoor use to provide a degree of protection to personnel against access to hazardous parts; to provide a degree of protection of the equipment inside the enclosure against ingress of solid foreign objects (falling dirt); to provide a degree of protection with respect to harmful effects on the equipment due to the ingress of water (hose directed water and the entry of water during prolonged submersion at a limited depth); that provides an additional level of protection against corrosion and that will be undamaged by the external formation of ice on the enclosure.
Nemaco manufactures and performs quality control tests per NEMA & UL Standards.

Typically, our type 6P enclosures are fabricated from stainless steel that provides corrosion resistance and material strength. It is better to use premium grades of stainless steel (304, 316 and 316L) for submersible enclosures. Premium grades of stainless steel contain more chrome and nickel elements for corrosion resistance. Generally, the more chrome and nickel added to stainless alloys, the greater the corrosion resistance. Since premium grades already resist corrosion and oxidation, powder coating is seldom applied to stainless steel. Call Nemaco, NEMA enclosures manufacturer in the U.S.A., for more information about (304, 316, 316L) stainless steel NEMA / Type 6P enclosures and stainless steel passivation.

Aluminum alloys (including 5052, 6061 and cast material grades) can be used for some Type 6P enclosures. Many aluminum alloys offer good corrosion resistance, but to improve it further these enclosures must receive a protective coating—commonly powder or marine coatings—to inhibit corrosion.

For some applications, fiberglass reinforced plastics (FRP / GRP) can be considered and used for Type 6P since FRP glass and resin materials do not rust or corrode. However, FRP enclosures should be designed with heavier (thick) walls for most uses. Ask us for more information about our waterproof FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) NEMA / Type 6P enclosures.
Other materials (for example, brass, copper, bronze alloys) might be used for Type 6P applications but are uncommon in industrial settings due to cost and availability. Brass, copper, and bronze alloys are typically used for fittings and adapters.
